In this demonstration, I will be introducing the basics of throwing and trimming functional tableware.
Showing you how to centre easily, the process of coning up and down and then how to start to form shapes. I will demonstrate 3 different shapes on the wheel and show you how to approach each one.
The demonstration will then move on to the trimming process. This is such an important part of the making process and really helps you to refine your work.
The session will be interactive and open to question-asking and handling the work. You will also be able to feel the dryness of the clay at each stage of the making process. The best way to learn is to feel and hold the pieces at each stage of the process.
